Frugal Find Friday | YSL

I love Value Village on Thursday’s because the entire store is 25% off.   While on the hunt for an unusual piece of vintage luggage, I spotted these red suede Yves Saint Laurent peep toes under a table in the furniture section.  The color immediately caught my eye and I just knew that they were not my size.  To my surprise, they were a size 39 and I proceeded to do my happy dance down the aisle. There are so many ways in which I plan to pair my frugal finds. Stay tuned!

Fashion Friday Tip: The Urge To Purge

Fashion Friday Tip: The urge to purge is in the air!  This weekend, start editing your closets. Give away old accessories, start pulling pieces for the MODAGE Style Fashion Swap Soiree, and organizing your handbags and shoes.

Vintage Glam Inspired

Last week, I asked the Style Mavens in the MODAGE Style | Fashion Bus Tour group on Facebook (join us), to share their favorite vintage glam inspired photos.  The feedback was favorable and here are a few of my favorite.

Also, I am so eager to get my hands on a copy of Vintage Black Glamour by Nichelle Gainer.

Fave Five Golden Globes Looks

The week would not be complete without my tardy Golden Globes recap post.  I actually did not have an opportunity to watch the show due to an engagement; however, I did spot a few looks that caught caught my eye.

Here are my fave five Golden Globes looks of 2015!

Weekend Vintage Inspired Look

I was feeling very Diana Ross’ish over the weekend and decided to recreate while putting my personal spin on a stunning look from one of my all-time favorite movies, Mahogany. My hat was compliments of Value City Thrift and I snagged the wool camel cape from a resale boutique in Annapolis.  My goal in 2015 is to work with what I already have and to just enjoy playing dress up when my schedule permits.

So, how did I do?

Vintage Shopping Tip

Vintage Love

It’s a myth that vintage is only for “petite” women. Vintage clothing comes in all shapes and sizes. If something catches your eye, don’t hesitate to try it on. If it doesn’t fit perfectly, always remember that you can take it to your local tailor and/or dry cleaners for a few nips and tucks. Let us know if you require tailor recommendations in your area.‪

Interested in a private two or three hour vintage shopping tour? Visit ultra stylish boutiques and over-the-top funky vintage stores designed to suit your personal style. You’ll be guided from boutique to boutique in search of one-of-a-kind or limited edition articles, fashion accessories, and fabulous ready-to-wear pieces. Contact us today to schedule your tour.
