Carolina Herrera | 2014 Fall Ready To Wear

So highly impressed with Carolina Herrera’s 2014 Fall Ready To Wear Collection.  I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite runway looks and plan to recreate a few over the next few weeks.   I’m seriously crushing over the high/sleek buns, fur accents, geometric lines, statement earrings and luxurious fabrics.  The entire collection screamed “elegant beauty,” and truly reflects Ms. Herrera’s personal aesthetic.  She’s such a class act.

It’s time to take a stand against heart disease in women.  Join Go Red For Women to come together and fight the number one killer of women, which is heart disease.  Instead of wearing red on only one day, I’ve decided to add this vibrant pop of color into my wardrobe the entire month of February.  Fight Heart Disease in Women this month and beyond.

Inspiration Monday | Street Style Details

Happy Inspiration Monday, I pray that you had an amazing weekend!

My Monday morning ritual consists of sipping hot green tea while grooving to the sounds of Les Nubians {love them!} and enjoying a few of my favorite fashion websites such as the New York Magazine for eye candy.  It is a fact that we all require a bit of visual stimulation before starting the work week.  Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is still in full swing and I have been glued to my monitor morning, noon and night watching many Fall 2014 inspired runway shows.  At times, I find it very interesting that some of the style mavens on the street intrigue me more than some of the looks I’ve seen on the runway.  Since I am a firm believer in the small details, I had to share with you a few of my favorite street style details from both New York and Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.  I hope that you are inspired and possibly attempt to recreate a few of these looks with preexisting pieces that you already own.  The goal is to mix it up a bit, have fun and try a new look for the office and/or the upcoming extended weekend.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week | Fall 2014 Tadashi Shoji

Japanese designer Tadashi Shoji did not disappoint yesterday.  Known for his exquisite red carpet gowns and stunning evening wear, his Fall 2014 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week left me wanting to play virtual dress up.  Elegant gowns adorned with twinkling beading, bold yet feminine lace and striking hints of velvet hit the runway and turned heads.   My favorite look of the collection was the red and black embroidered cape paired with the white lace gown below, LOVE!

BCBG Max Azria | FALL 2014 Ready To Wear | New York Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has officially started and I’ll be sharing my favorite looks from the runway.  First up, is BCBG Max Azria and I’ve been a fan of Max Azria since the 90’s, especially because he creates such quality maxi dresses {two of which I still have and they are about 10 years old}.

The featured looks below can be paired/remixed so many various ways – all with the same pieces featured {effortless style}.  I also loved the combination of geometric prints, tall studded/pointed knee boots, fur accents and the ultra-feminine yet edgy vibe the leather provides.  Rumor has it that the collection was inspired by the landscapes and scenery of Louisiana and the bayou.

Etsy Inspired Weddings | Bridal Headpieces

Choosing the perfect wedding hairstyle is important and so are your hair accessories for your big day.  Perfectly adorned headpieces remain on trend each bridal season and they add instant glamour.  From simple to chic, bridal hair accessories can be used in a variety of ways to create bejeweled elegance.  In honor of Wedding Wednesday, I have rounded up a few of my favorite bridal headpieces that I spotted on Etsy.

Lace bridal caps are timeless and lend a vintage vibe.  While traveling abroad, I fell in love and now wear them just because.  Such an expressive statement for anyone desiring an extra touch of retro-French beauty.  Also, some bridal caps have a detachable veil which adds a double wow factor.

Stylish Tuesday | Pearl Accents

Pearls are the only gemstones created by a living organism and considered unique as no two are exactly alike.  Delicate, highly prized, feminine and rich are the words in which we will use to describe our favorite gem.  Here are a few of my favorite pearl accent-inspired looks for Stylish Tuesday!

Inspiration Monday | Repurposed Cheese Grater

Happy Monday!

Yesterday, the DC Metropolitan area experienced unseasonably warm weather {50 degrees, woo hoo!} and I had the pleasure of enjoying some quiet time on my deck to finish a quick DIY organizational project.  Inspired by a fellow thrifter {fearless_frugality} on Instagram, she shared a picture of a unique repurposed cheese grater that she remixed for displaying her earrings.  I immediately saved her picture as inspiration and scored a vintage cheese greater yesterday while attending a flea market in Westminster, Maryland.

Cheese Grater Jewerly

Armed with chocolate spray paint, I gave this $1 flea market find a mini-makeover.  The duration of this DIY project was an hour, as I pre-selected the earrings that I wanted to showcase.  Absolutely an unconventional re-purposed piece!  This would look perfect on any dresser or vanity, a true conversation piece!

So, what do you think?  Also, here are a few of my favorite flea market finds from Saturday.
